GitHub README stats badge
Show your public GitHub month in your README: merged PRs or contributions, with your rank and merge streak. No account needed.
Your README badge
How to add a stats badge to your GitHub README
- Type your GitHub username above.
- Choose Badge or Card. Then pick a board, and for a badge, pick what it shows: your count, your rank and your merge streak.
- Copy the Markdown, or the HTML for a card.
- Paste it into a README. For your GitHub profile, that's the README of the repository named after your username. Commit, and the badge shows on your profile.
Add a MergeMax GitHub stats card to your README
Choose Card for a larger image. It is the same card MergeMax draws for sharing, with your count, your rank and the month. Its snippet is HTML, so it can set the card's width.
README badge questions
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free, and you need no account. The badge is an image, and every setting is part of its URL.
What do the numbers count?
Public PRs counts public PRs you authored that were merged in the month, by UTC date. Contributions is GitHub's own contribution count, which includes private work if your profile shows it. The badge never shows your private contribution count. How we count has the details.
Why does my badge show last month?
At the start of a month, while the new month has little data, the badge shows last month's numbers with last month's name. Then it moves to the new month.
How fresh are the numbers?
The badge shows MergeMax's latest check of your account. Busier accounts get checked more often. How we count lists how often.
What does “not tracked” mean?
MergeMax has no public numbers for that username. Look it up on MergeMax first. Hidden accounts always show “not tracked”.
Why does the badge show my username?
Anyone can put anyone's badge in a README, so every badge names the account it belongs to. It also links to that account's MergeMax profile.
Can I change it later?
Yes. Make a new badge here and replace the line in your README.
